Job Description
nThis is a crucial role in our design and development process. You will be tasked with measuring and understanding device and system performance and providing valuable insight and feedback to the rest of the team. In this role, you will test and validate microelectronics, optoelectronics, photonics integrated circuits, and acoustic devices from chip level to module level to system level. We are looking for someone who approaches things methodologically, has an analytical mind, can develop comprehensive test plans, build pilot production scale test systems, implement reliable performance tests, and analyze test data for device and product development.
nAs the Validation Engineer, your responsibilities are to:

- Develop validation and test plan documentation based on datasheets, working with device and system engineers, and by thinking beyond the design implementation to find issues and ensure sufficient test coverage to reach a production worthy device n
- Specify, design, and assemble test environments including: n
- Lab Equipment n
- Test Fixtures n
- Test Boards n
- Software n
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop test methodologies, metrics, and figures-of-merit to guide performance tracking n
- Perform the characterization and validation of microelectronics, optoelectronics, photonic integrated circuits, and acoustic devices n
- Analyze the test data and report the test results in standardized formats that you will develop n
- Develop both the hardware and software for automated or semi-automated test n

Qualifications
nYou should have the following skills/qualities/experiences:
n- n
- BS or above a relevant technical field (Optics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar) n
- 5+ years of experience in industry owning validation/test efforts on products, including designing, building and maintaining test/calibration systems n
- Hands-on experience with test equipment and instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power supplies, optical components, motion control units, etc.) n
- Proficiency in MATLAB or Python n
- Experience collaborating with or managing outside vendors to specify, develop, and qualify test solutions n
- Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, drawings, and technical analyses n
- Industry experience creating detailed test documentation (plans, protocols, reports) n
- Must be willing to relocate to either St. Louis, MO or Santa Clara, CA n
